Robert “Bob” Lee Hoyt, 53, of Quincy, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes at home Monday, December 26, 2022.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation, 1276 Tate Trail, Union City, with Pastor Marty Burdick officiating. Interment will follow at Newton Township Cemetery in Calhoun County.
Visitation will be held just prior to the funeral, from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon at Lighthouse Saturday, December 31, 2022.
Bob was born March 4, 1969 in Charlotte, Michigan to Barry and Donna (Withrow) Hoyt. He attended Bellevue High School and went on to work as a truck driver, mig welder and mill operator. On June 30, 2012, Bob married the former Robin Marie Bommer in Coldwater.
Away from work, Bob enjoyed going to the casino and playing slots; watching Detroit Tigers baseball, as well as University of Michigan and Detroit Lions football; going camping and fishing; and following NASCAR – primarily Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
He is survived by his spouse, Robin Hoyt; step-children, Jordan Dean and Alex (Dawn) Dean, both of Ft. Wayne, IN; his mother, Donna Hoyt of Coldwater; siblings, Tara (Mike) Powell of Union City, Theresa Mohrhardt of Burlington and Daniel Hoyt of Watervliet; nieces and nephews, Ashlie (Matt) Mitchell of Tennessee; Jennifer Cole of Burlington, Dustin Powell of Ohio, Noah Powell of Fremont, IN, Todd Powell of Union City and Makayla Mohrhardt of Burlington; several great-nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Sean Bryan.
Bob was preceded in death by his father and his brother-in-law, Jeff Mohrhardt.
