Michael L. Bercaw, 53, of Bronson, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 30, 2022.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor Terry Siler from the First Congregational Church officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 3-7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Michael was born August 17, 1969 in Coldwater, MI to George & Karen (Evens) Bercaw. He graduated from Bronson High School in 1988 and married Shanna R. Smith on April 29, 1989 in Bronson.
Michael owned and operated Quality Janitorial for over 20 years. He was a family man, actively involved in the lives of his children, coaching many youth sports, travel baseball and softball and served as the director of the Bronson Rocket Football program for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, especially for Walleye. Mike was a U of M fan and enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting and occasional visits to the casino.
Michael is survived by his wife Shanna; his children Michael Bercaw of Bronson, Amberly (Mike) DeGryse of Ceresco; his father George Bercaw of Bronson; his siblings Dan (Cheryl) Bercaw of Bronson, David (Christie) Bercaw of Union City, Karleen (Rudy) Valentine of Coldwater; sister and brother-in-law Matt & Terriann Spottek; his grandchildren Chastin Bercaw, Alexia Bercaw, Mason Sisco, Haylee Sisco, Carson Fultz and Amberly & Mike’s baby girl who is on her way. Mike has many nieces, nephews and very close friends and his beloved pets Shine, Emma and Brother. He was preceded in death by his mother Karen; his grandparents Ruby & Karl Evens, Vernie & Mildred Bercaw and mother and father-in-law Terry & Connie Smith.
Memorials may be directed to Bronson Rocket Football and Cheer or the Branch County Humane Society.
