Harold L. Rockey, 90, of Allen, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Drews Country Living in Hillsdale.
There will no services or calling hours at this time.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
He was born on April 7, 1932 in Hillsdale to William and Nora (Barnes) Rockey. Harold married Betty (Ryder) on February 23, 1952 and she preceded him in death in 2002. Harold then married Karen (Bream) Wales on April 1, 2010 and she survives.
Harold graduated from Quincy High School in 1950 and went on to work at Eaton Manufacturing until his retirement. Horses were his life, getting his first horse at age 10.
Harold was a horse dealer and attending horse auctions was a big part of his life. If you knew Harold Rockey, more likely than not it was because of a horse. He was instrumental in starting the Branch County Saddle Club many years ago.
In addition to his wife, Karen Wales, Harold is survived by one daughter, Teresa Rockey of Coldwater; two sons, Henry (Elaine) Rockey, Jim (Marlene) Rockey both of Allen; one stepson, Brian Wales of Iowa City, Iowa; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several step-grand and step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Betty; one son, Steve Rockey; four sisters, Donna Blue, Dorothy Risedorph, Helen Donihue, Muriel McLain; one brother, William Rockey and one step-great-grandson, Beckett VanLue.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Branch County Saddle Club.
