Jack J. Wittenmyer, 76, of Quincy, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, at his home. He was born August 26, 1946, in Findlay, OH to Clyde and Bonnie (Tarr) Wittenmyer. Jack married Deborah Hammond on September 8, 1973, and she survives.
Jack graduated from Liberty Benton High School in Findlay, class of 1964. He went on to serve his country in the army and was a Vietnam Army vet. Jack was the owner of Hancock Masonry and then worked at Consolidated Freightways. He was also the owner of Preferred Sweeping in Quincy. Jack was a hard working, selfless man who loved his family and was always there to help someone out. He loved fishing with his grandkids and spending all the time he could with them. He loved visiting with family and friends and his annual hunting trip to the U.P with his son, Jason. Jack was always ready to joke or give someone a hard and was the master at figuring out the cheapest way to fix something.
Surviving besides his wife, Deborah are three children, Jason (Melissa) Wittenmyer, Erin (Benjy) Wilber and Corie (Warren) Snyder; grandchildren, Anna, Brynley, Morgan, Ellison and Jackie; and siblings, Jill Sonnet, Sally Knight, Rex Wittenmyer and Becky Gorrell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Lincoln Wiber; and brothers, Roger and Jon Saums.
Funeral services for Jack Wittenmyer will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Union Church in Quincy with Pastors Cathy Davis and Brad Parrish officiating. Interment will follow at West Girard Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 PM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
