ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) — An Angola man was arrested Friday night after he was accused of entering a residence without permission and getting into a domestic situation with a handgun.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says the incident was reported in the area of 4400 West 105 South at about 6pm where 54-year-old James Donbrock is alleged to have threatened a man with the firearm and struck him on the head with the weapon which caused a minor injury.
The victim was able to flee the residence and call 911. The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police responded.
During the initial investigation, it was found Donbrock had left the residence prior to their arrival. The victim refused medical treatment at the scene.
Donbrock was found a short time later at his residence on County Road 150 South. He was arrested for Burglary, Resident Unlawful Entry, Intimidation, Battery Committed with a Deadly Weapon, Pointing a Firearm and Domestic Battery.
Donbrock is being held without bond pending an initial hearing.
A search warrant was obtained for Donbrock’s residence to look for and seize items of evidence related to the incident. Sheriff Rodney Robinson says additional criminal charges related to the search are pending further investigation.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Indiana State Police.
