COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Paul Flynn will take over as the new Superintendent of the Coldwater Community School District on July 1, 2023 after the district’s Board of Education approved his three year contract on Monday night.
His yearly salary will be $150,000 and he will take over for Terry Ann Whelan who will be retiring at the end of June.
The Board voted unanimously on March 16 to offer the Superintendents position to Flynn who has served as the Superintendent of Schools in Sandusky, Michigan since 2017. There were 11 candidates for the position.
Before he served as Sandusky’s Superintendent, Flynn previously was a principal at Yale High School for seven years. He also served as a high school assistant principal for nine years and was a high school teacher for eight years.
Flynn holds an Educational Specialist’s Degree in Central Office Administration/Superintendent from Saginaw Valley State University, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Speech from Michigan State University.
