COLON, MI (WTVB) – The Union City Chargers won a pair of non-conference games on Thursday over the Colon Magi by scores of 18-5 and 8-3.
Ethan Neveraski was the winning pitcher in the opener as struck out nine and did not walk a batter.
Ryan Zweng led the Chargers with three hits. Jakob Fosmore had three RBI’s on a double and a single.
Eli Payne took the win on the mound for the Chargers in the second game as he struck out eight in five innings of work.
Alex Hull and Zweng each collected two hits. Zweng also stole three bases as the Chargers collected nine steals.
The Chargers are now 17-6 overall and 6-4 in the Big 8 Conference. They will travel to Springport on Tuesday for a league doubleheader.
Union City will host Kalamazoo Christian on Thursday and travel to Comstock on Friday of next week.
