COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The season ended for Coldwater’s boys golf team on Wednesday as they hosted 18 teams in the M.H.S.A.A. Division Two Region 9 meet at Coldwater Golf Course.
Coldwater was 17th with a team score of 405. Talen Eberts led the Cardinals with a 94 while Blaike Kelley had a 101, Rayce Johnson carded a 102 and Parkyr Jones and Steven Covell both had rounds of 108.
Vicksburg won the team competition followed by Mason and Richland Gull Lake. Those teams qualified for next weekend’s State Finals at the Fortress Golf Course in Frankenmuth.
Vicksburg’s score of 299 set a new high school team record on the Coldwater Golf Course. Mason had a team score of 316 followed by Gull Lake with a 319.
Also qualifying for the State Tournament as individuals were Joey Morio from Harper Creek, J.J. Miller from Jackson Northwest and Jacob Marohn from Stevensville Lakeshore who all shot 78’s to qualify as the top three individuals not on one of the top three teams.
