COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It promises to be a busy summer in downtown Coldwater.
The Coldwater City Council gave permission Monday night to close South Hanchett between U.S. 12 and West Pearl on July 12 and August 16 for Petrol and Pint Nights that is being sponsored by Two Bandits Brewing Company.
The event that was originally scheduled for June 21 will not be held.
City Manager Keith Baker said the event will allow classic, vintage, sports and muscle cars and motorcycle owners to park and display their vehicles on the street and in the Tibbits Plaza parking lot.
He said there would be no conflict with offerings at the Tibbits Opera House.
South Hanchett would be blocked off on those three nights from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m..
The Council also approved the closing of South Monroe between U.S. 12 and West Pearl between 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on August 12 for the Coldwater Noon Club’s 102nd Anniversary Celebration.
Tim Hart from the Coldwater Noon Club said it will be a free event.
Last but not least, the Council gave formal approval to close South Monroe between U.S. 12 and West Pearl every Thursday night from June 29 until August 31 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for the weekly Hops on Monroe
