ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Michigan State Police Troopers from the Marshall Post say the driver of a motorcycle suffered serious injuries in a crash near Mendon on Saturday.
They say it happened on M-66 near Jacksonburg Road as the rider of the motorcycle was traveling north at a high rate of speed.
A witness said the driver lost control of his motorcycle, crossed the center line, and was thrown off from the motorcycle when it left the road.
The injured man was flown to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment by Air Care.
State Police say speed is believed to be a contributing factor to the crash. Drugs and alcohol use are not believed to be factors at this time and a helmet was not worn.
Assisting on scene were members of Lifecare ambulance, the Mendon and Colon Fire Departments and Colon Police.
