COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater and the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities received several honors during the recent American Municipal Power Annual Conference in Columbus, Ohio.
The C.B.P.U. received awards from AMP for Public Power Promotion and Innovation as well as an honorable mention for System Improvement and a commendation for its participation in AMP’s Mutual Aid Program.
The Public Power Promotion Award recognized Project Engage which according to AMP is a program to enhance the utility’s brand image, foster goodwill within the community and exemplify the benefits of public power.
The Innovation Award recognizes the utility for the GIS Storm Damage Assessment Toolkit project, which aimed to improve outage management through GIS technology.
The System Improvement Honorable Mention was for the HC Starck Dual Recloser Installation project which would saving the company about $250,000.
The utility’s Mutual Aid Commendation is in recognition of mutual aid assistance the CBPU provided to the AMP Member communities of Marshall, and Wapakoneta, Ohio as well as the public power community of Orlando, Florida.
The Annual Conference is AMP’s premier event. It featured presentations and panel discussions by industry experts and speakers from AMP partner organizations.
