COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Legg Middle School girls volleyball teams won three out of four matches against Jackson Northwest on Tuesday night.
The 8th grade A team won 25-18, 25-20. Caydee Marske was strong on the serving line with 8 points with 3 aces. Gemma McVicker, Audi Bucklin and Adyson Qualls each scored 5 points and 3 aces. Alexa Carreon with 4 points and 2 aces. Audi Bucklin was tough at the net with 8 kills and one block. Adyson Qualls with 4 kills, Alyise Dally 3 kills and Caydee Marske 3 kills. Harper Morrill with 3 digs and Madelyn McCullough with 2 digs. Kelsey Price with 5 assists.
The 8th grade B team lost 2 of the 3 sets against Northwest 20-25, 25-22, 14-16. Maria Aguirre went 13-14 with 7 aces, Claire Stroup went 10-11 with 1 ace, Lily Scheidler went 7-7 with 2 aces and Breanna Smith went 6-6 with 1 ace. Claire Stroup had 4 hits and Lily Scheidler had 3 hits.
The 7th A team defeated Jackson Northwest 25-17, 23-25, 15-10 to even their record at 7-7. At the service line Coldwater served 80% on the night and were lead by McKenzie Miller 9-10 with 1 ace, Avrey Qualls 10-12 with 3 aces, Kirah Sloan 10-12 with 2 aces, Hadley Schabloski 10-13 with 1 ace, Addy Bucklin 6-9 with 1 ace, Eliette VanWagner 1-2 and Julia Trojanowski who was 1-1 and the game winning serve. Bucklin had 5 digs followed by Miller with 4 and Qualls with 3. Avrey Qualls had 4 kills to pace Coldwater followed by Addy Bucklin with 3 and Kirah Sloan and Hadley Schabloski 2 kills each.
The 7th grade B team defeated Northwest as they won the first two games 25-11, 25-13 before dropping the third game 5-15. Leading the Lady Cards in scoring was Paula Mancera serving 14/15, 4 aces, 4 digs, Keiara Collins serving 8/8, 2 digs, Kaitlyn Carter serving 7/9, 3 digs, Cali Mock serving 7/8, 1 ace, 2 digs, Keeley Love serving 6/7, 4 aces, 1 dig, Felicity Winright serving 4/5 and two digs.
