COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater bounced back from a one-point loss to Jackson Northwest to defeat Harper Creek 57-51 Tuesday night at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.
The Cardinals led 20-12 after the first quarter, but the Beavers used a 17-9 second quarter to knot the game at halftime 29-29. A 14-5 third quarter gave Coldwater a 43-34 cushion heading into the final stanza, which saw Harper Creek’s comeback effort fall short despite outscoring the Cardinals 17-14.
Ayden Dirschell led all scorers with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. Gavin Tayor added 14 points and 5 boards, while Zach Coffing had 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals.
Coldwater improved to 4-9 overall, 3-2 in the Interstate 8, and will visit Pennfield Saturday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. in a contest rescheduled from January 12th.

Coldwater won the JV game 68-56. Dayton Ennis led Coldwater with 20 points while Julian Thompson had 16 points. Jakyi Brown Abston had 13 points and six rebounds. The Coldwater Boys JV record is 8-4.
Harper Creek took the freshman contest 50-24.
