QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Union City Chargers had to grind out a 42-30 Big 8 Conference win over Branch County rival Quincy on Tuesday night in “The Coolest Gymnasium in Michigan.”
The Chargers led 18-15 at halftime and then outscored Quincy 24-15 after intermission.
Eli Payne led the Chargers with 12 points while Aidan Decker had 10 points.
Grant Carter had 12 points and five rebounds for the Orioles. Quincy’s Alex Dunn grabbed eight rebounds. Corey Turner had three steals.
Union City is now 8-4 overall and 4-1 in the Big 8.
Quincy drops to 7-5 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
