BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Concord Yellow Jackets remained undefeated in the Big 8 Conference and took a commanding two game lead for first place as they defeated the Bronson Vikings 69-49 on Friday night. The Vikings saw their five game winning streak come to an end. Bronson is now 11-4 overall and 7-2 in the Big 8.

The Quincy Orioles jumped out to a 18-6 lead after the first quarter and never looked back as they defeated arch rival Reading 60-37 at “The Cathedral” in Quincy. The victory completed a season sweep for the Orioles over the Rangers. Grant Carter led the Orioles with 18 points and six rebounds. Brandon Miner scored 16 points and also grabbed six rebounds. Ryan Kempter added nine points. Alex Barry had seven rebounds. Quincy is now 8-8 overall and 4-5 in the Big 8.

The Union City Chargers ended a three game losing streak with a 58-47 victory at Maple Valley. The Chargers are now 9-7 overall and 5-4 in the Big 8.

In girls basketball, the Quincy Orioles won back-to-back games for the first time this season as they won a non-conference game at Adrian Lenawee Christian 40-35. The Orioles have won three of their last five games and are 3-10 for the season.
