COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Main Street Director Audrey Tappenden said on Thursday the Match on Main reimbursement grant program offered by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation has reopened and that Coldwater Main Street is accepting applications
The M.E.D.C. decided to pause the program in early January “in order to allow for strategic changes aimed at enhancing the customer experience of the program.” The pause included the funding round that was scheduled to open on January 15.
Tappenden says Coldwater Main Street is accepting applications for the “Match on Main” grant program through March 27.
The program is designed to serve as a tool to support new or expanding place-based businesses by providing up to $25,000 in funding. A minimum 10 percent match is required.
The funds can be used for such items as technical assistance, building renovation, permanent and semi-permanent activation of outdoor space, and general marketing and technology, among others.
Businesses and nonprofits must sell goods or services face-to-face and have a physical location within the downtown in order to be eligible.
