COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary has become the first major sponsor for the May 18 Cultural Jubilee: A Gathering of Neighbors.
Organizers say the Cultural Jubilee will celebrate the many cultural identities and traditions when it’s held in downtown Coldwater in Tibbits Plaza and South Hanchett Street from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m..
The event came about after the Cultivating Community Celebration in 2022.
According to Club President Joe Hughes, “Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary is excited about the Jubilee and what it will do for our community. We are committed to treating everyone in our community with dignity, respect, allowing everyone’s voice to be heard, and providing equitable opportunities for fellowship, service, and leadership. Diverse communities grow stronger and more vibrant as time goes on.”
Donations in support of the event may be made to Branch County Community Foundation (BCCF) online at brcofoundation.org or mailed to 2 West Chicago Street, #E1 Coldwater, MI 49036.
Organizers are also seeking exhibits, activities, food and vendors to provide authentic representations of the cultures in Coldwater and Branch County.
Been asking for this for years from the city. Glad someone picked up on it and ran with it. It should be themed with “unity” rather than “diversity”.
