COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker says he has been informed by the Michigan Department of Transportation that they will make adjustments so that drivers can get a better view of traffic on U.S. 12 at Willow Lane and Lucky Drive in the Pilot Knob neighborhood.
Baker received an e-mail Friday morning from MDOT engineer Greg Finnila which said the pavement markings on the west end of U.S. 12 at Willow Lane are going to shifted to the south. Finnila says this will create additional space on U.S. 12 and increase the site distance for vehicles on Willow Lane.
He added the designers are still moving forward with an option to raise Willow Lane for improved site distance.
There has been a lot of talk in recent months about the reduced visibility following MDOT’s U.S. 12 bridge restoration and sidewalk improvement project.
The $2-point-4 million project on the bridge over the Coldwater River affected traffic on the west side of Coldwater for about six months last year.
