QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – A second half rally by the Quincy girls soccer team fell short on Tuesday night as they lost to undefeated Olivet 3-2.
The Eagles took advantage of some untimely errors and misplayed balls by the Orioles to take a 3-0 halftime lead.
Quincy put the pressure on Olivet in the second half as they got goals from Makenzie Maynard at the three minute mark and from Sami Hollenbaugh on a penalty kick with six minutes left.
The last five minutes of the game saw Quincy get several attempts but they could not equalize.
Quincy will start conference play Thursday when they travel to Adrian Lenawee Christian.
Also in girls soccer on Tuesday, Bronson lost to Calhoun Christian 5-0.
