COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council awarded bids for a pair of street maintenance projects on Monday night.
One was for this year’s micro surfacing street maintenance project. Of the two bids opened on April 3, the low bid was submitted by Pavement Maintenance Systems of Indianapolis, Indiana.
City Manager Keith Baker says the project is budgeted for the 2024-25 fiscal year with funds allocated from the City’s Act 51 Major and Local Street Fund.
The bid includes a one year warranty. The streets scheduled for micro surfacing this year include:
West Montgomery between Grand and Marshall
West Clarke between Grand and Marshall
Pierson between Chicago and Waterman
Sherman between Division and Preston
Sheridan from Sherman to the end
Arrowhead Drive from Bishop to the end
Hudson between Pierce and Elizabeth
South Circle from Fairfield to the entrance
Hatch between Western and Fremont
Grand between Cardinal and State
The Council also approved a proposal from the Branch County Road Commission to complete chip sealing road maintenance work for the City similar to work done in recent years on Fiske Road.
The roads proposed for chip sealing treatment this year are Jay Street, Race Street, Hillside Drive and the western leg of Industrial Avenue. The work is estimated to cost just over $71,700.
