COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council placed an offer to buy two vacant parcels of land on Pheasant Run Drive from David and Monica Lowder on the table for 30 days during their Monday night meeting.
City Manager Keith Baker said the Lowders want to build two homes on the land.
Their offer also addressed four additional parcels between Tanner Run and the Sauk River.
But Baker said because of the nature of the land in this area, additional research will be required for the preparation of a sales agreement for these parcels.
The Lowder’s offer is $15,000 per parcel for a total of $30,000. The property was acquired by the City from the Michigan Department of Treasury.
The City also completed a quiet title action of the property on August 4, 2023.
The Lowders own and operate Lowder Enterprises, LLC which is doing business as Alliance Home Builders and Alliance Spray Foam. They have built several homes in the neighborhood.
According to the City Charter, the conveyance must remain on the table for 30 days when public property is sold. During this time, other bids may be received and considered by the City Council.
They are expected to act on the sale during their June 24 meeting.
