RICHLAND, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater participated in an MHSAA Division 2 Track & Field Regional Saturday at Gull Lake. The Lady Cards finished fourth out of 15 teams with 70 points; Stevensville Lakeshore won the team Regional title. The Cardinal boys were sixth out of 13 teams with 52½ points, as Berrien Springs took home the Regional trophy.
Elli Foley was a double winner in the girls discus and shot put, while Grace Huff won the girls 800m run. They will both compete at the MHSAA Division 2 Lower Peninsula Finals on June 1st at Hamilton, along with Ella Grabowski and Jaelah Sloan, who finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the girls long jump; Jackson Reilly, who was second in the boys shot put and fifth in the boys discus; and Garrett McVicker, who placed sixth in the boys shot put.
Huff, Sloan, Ella Thompson, and Miyah Moore won the girls 4x200m relay, while Brianna Barle was a double winner in the girls adaptive 100m and 200m dashes.
The top two finishers in each event advance to the state finals, along with those that meet the published additional qualifying standard.
All told, a total of 19 individuals and 6 relay teams will represent Branch County at the State Finals on June 1st, including the athletes from Bronson, Quincy, and Union City who qualified Friday at the Division 3 Hillsdale Regional.

The Cardinals will wrap up the regular season Tuesday at the Interstate 8 Meet at Albion College.
