The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office says deputies found 29-year-old Mason L. Aelker of Payson, Utah, lying in the southbound lane of 127 suffering from a head injury at about 1:30 a.m..
The driver of a 2000 Ford Excursion that was pulling an enclosed trailer which struck him was identified as 53-year-old John R. Reuille of Fort Wayne.

Reuille tried to swerve but struck Aelker with the right front of the vehicle. Aelker was transported by Steuben County EMS to Cameron Hospital where he was then flown by Samaritan helicopter to Parkview Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
