Ground was broken for the new building in August of 2023 after the $140,000 satellite fire station was approved the previous June during the Bronson Area Fire Association’s annual budget meeting.
Gilead, Noble, Bethel, and Bronson Townships helped fund the cost of construction.
There were many other donations in the construction of the station. Rusty Smith donated his time as the project manager. Dan Hershberger Construction and his crew donated their labor along with Chuck Shimp Excavating.
Kirk Skinner donated his labor for the plumbing and HVAC. Southern Michigan Bank & Trust provided their maintenance crew of Kerry Skinner, Chad Butters, and Louis Horn.
