COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency Environmental Health Director Paul Andriachhi is trying to get the word out locally about a state program that provides low-interest financing to Michigan homeowners for the replacement of failing or near-failing septic systems.
The Septic Replacement Loan Program was created in partnership with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy.
He says there are two tiers to the program which is available only for single family residences or for single family residences that are rentals.
Homeowners have 10 years to pay off the loans. Income-based financing will range from $1,000 – $30,000, and market-based loans will range from $1,000 – $50,000 per project.
Actual rates, terms, and loan amounts will vary. More information and details are available at www.bhsj.org.
