OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Bronson man was injured Wednesday afternoon when his motorcycle crashed into the back of a 2018 GMC Sierra on Old U.S. 27 south of Warren Road.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department says the crash took place just after 4:30 p.m..
They said in a news release that 60-year-old Joseph Samuel Griffiths from Angola, Indiana was heading north when he stopped to make a left hand turn.
As Griffiths was waiting for southbound traffic to clear so that he could turn into a driveway, his vehicle was hit from behind by a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 37-year-old Randall Scott Atkins of Bronson.
The Sheriff’s Department said Atkins did not see the other vehicle stopped. Atkins was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne for treatment of his injuries.
The accident still remains under investigation. Deputies were assisted by the Lakeland Fire Department, Lifecare Ambulance and 911 Towing.
