George Lewis Snellenberger, 87, of Coldwater passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
A service will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Deacon John Wielgos officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery.
A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home.
George was born on July 14, 1936 to Lewis and Hanaora (Blanch) Snellenberger in Angola, IN. He married Kathryn (Kitty) L. Ebner June 30, 1967. She preceded him in death in 2007.
George was a butcher for Wexler in Chicago, and various other meat packaging plants.
He had a passion for Trap Shooting and traveling with his daughter to compete. He was inducted into the Michigan and Indiana Trap Shooting Hall of Fame, and Amateur Trap Shooting Association Hall of Fame in 1983 for his impressive skills, setting the 1961 shoot off record for the 500 straight, and earning multiple grand awards and state championships. https://traphof.org/inductees/details/1/152-snellenberger-george
George is survived by his children Jacque Snellenberger of Coldwater; Scott (Helen) Snellenberger of Angola; his grandchildren Roxanne (Adam) Voirol, Jennifer (David) Wirges, Tristen (Sharifya) Snellenberger; Thane Snellenberger; and many great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Kitty, George was preceded in death by his son George A. Snellenberger and grandson Troy Snellenberger.
