Norma Marie Cuellar, 59, of Bronson, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI.
A memorial mass will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Assumption Church in Bronson.
The family will receive guests for visitation that morning from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Norma was born August 1, 1964, in Refugio, Texas to Rafael and Estanislada (Guerrero) Cuellar. Norma was a pillar of strength, known for her unwavering faith and boundless love for her family. She was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Assumption Church and Holy Angel’s Catholic Church in Sturgis.
Norma enjoyed music and dancing, reading and writing, crocheting and anything Lion King, Elvis Presley or the Wizard of Oz related; but above all, she dedicated her life to supporting her three daughters who she cherished beyond measure. She was their greatest advocate and biggest cheerleader, ensuring her daughters felt supported and loved in every endeavor while pursuing their dreams with determination and humor.
Her commitment extended beyond her family. Harboring the heart of a true servant, Norma dedicated much of her time to volunteering. She was deeply involved in her community, volunteering tirelessly for both churches, the Hispanic community and every club, sport and extracurricular activity her daughters were a part of. Her honest and courageous nature was a reflection of her integrity that earned her respect and admiration from many.
A woman of strong faith, Norma found solace and strength in her beliefs, which guided her through life’s challenges with grace and resilience. Even throughout her illness, she remained steadfast, her faith unwavering, and her spirit undiminished.
She brought joy and laughter wherever she went, known for her sharp wit, she was always ready with a quick joke or a playful quip to brighten the room. Her selfless, vibrant and genuine personality touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Norma is survived by her children Maritza Hernandez of Portage, MI, Araceli Hernandez, Idalia Hernadez both of Bronson; her siblings: Albert (Nora) Cuellar of Refugio, Texas, Roberto Cuellar of Saginaw, MI, Olivia (Joe) Guerrero of Refugio, Tx, Armando (Connie) Cuellar of Justin, TX, Linda (Gilbert) Sabel of Redgranite, WI, Alfredo Cuellar of Woodsboro, TX, Rafael Cuellar of Woodsboro, TX, Mary (Joseph) Garcia of Refugio, TX, John Cuellar of Jacksonville, NC, her niece Rosalinda Gonzalez along with many other loving nieces and nephews; and her beloved cats Clover, Batman, and Robin.
She was preceded in death by her parents Rafael and Estanislada Cuellar, Maurillo and Erlinda Montoya; her sister Susan Andrade and her dog Brownie.
Memorial donations are suggested to the family. Checks may be made payable to Maritza Hernandez.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, her laughter will echo in our memories forever.
