Elizabeth “Lisa” Hankins, 62, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Coldwater, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Corewell Health in Grand Rapids surrounded by her family.
Her memory will live on as she was able to donate her organs through Gift of Life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater with Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Girard.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 15, 2024, from 4:00-6:00 p.m., with the Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Lisa was born May 31, 1962, in Coldwater, MI to Ronald and Rosalie (Gaglio) Bercaw. She earned her associate’s degree and a certification as a Nursing Assistant. Lisa worked in mental health care for many years including Adapt in Coldwater and at Pine Rest in Grand Rapids.
Lisa was a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching movies with her family, traveling, camping and being by the water. She was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Detroit Lions and the University of Notre Dame.
Lisa adored her children and grandchildren and greatly treasured the time they spent together.
Lisa is survived by her children Brandon (Terri) Hankins, Tanya Hankins, Krishaun Hankins, all of Grand Rapids; her parents Ron (Kay) Bercaw, Rosalie Bercaw, all of Coldwater; her bother Ron (Darlene) Bercaw of Madeira Beach, FL, Ann (Ken) Smoker of Coldwater; her former spouse Rick Hankins of Grand Rapids, 11 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be directed to the funeral home to help with expenses.
