Mary Ann Delaney, 100, of Coldwater passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024 at her home in Coldwater surrounded by her family.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on her birthday, Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Stratman Schoolhouse in Coldwater.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
She was born August 4, 1923 to Theodore and Mary (Klier) Hunsanger in Ruth, MI. September 6, 1947 Mary married William Delaney and he preceded her in death May 2, 1984.
Spending most of her life in the Detroit area, Mary established a love for baseball, especially the Detroit Tigers that was only matched by her passion for animals and the many cats she cared for.
She also enjoyed playing Bunko, singing, and dancing at the Fredonia Grange Hall; but what truly filled her heart with joy, was raising her family and making every house they shared together a home full of warmth and love.
Mary leaves behind her children Cathleen (Larry) Prince of Coldwater, William Delaney of Allen Park, MI; her 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; and her many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband William, Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her sons Patrick and Kevin Delaney, her grandson Daniel Waring, and her siblings Fran, Louise, Matilda, Cecilia, Vera, Clem, Joe, and George.
Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Branch County.
