Ethel F. Michielsen, 83, of Tekonsha, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 at MediLodge of Marshall.
A celebration of Ethel’s life will take place at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Tekonsha, 914 N. Main St., Tekonsha, MI, 49092, with Pastor Clive Heyd officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., also at the church.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Ethel was born on December 17, 1940 to Ernest and Lousie (Mains) McFadden in Tekonsha. She lived in Tekonsha all of her life. On November 23, 1963, she married William L. Michielsen, he preceded her in death on October 17, 1997.
Ethel worked for The Marshall Advisor and the Coldwater Shopper’s Guide papers for over 20 years, delivering them in Tekonsha on her bicycle.
She enjoyed gospel music, talking on the phone, garage sales, and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. Ethel was a member of the First Baptist of Tekonsha and was a member of the church senior group.
Surviving are her children, William Michielsen of Coldwater, Brenda (Richard) Badish of Tekonsha, John Ray (Sandra) Michielsen of Tekonsha, and Jerry Michielsen of Burlington; her siblings, Mary (Dennis Cole) Bender of Marshall, Eastman (Kathryn) McFadden of Tekonsha, and Earl McFadden of Tekonsha; her eight grandchildren; her many great-grandchildren; and her several nieces and nephews.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister-in -law Linda McFadden.
