Richard Lewis Horn, 88, of Litchfield passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at his home.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Litchfield with Pastor Beverly Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Allen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
He was born May 12, 1936 in Somerset to Henry Lewis and Lydia E. (Baker) Horn. Richard married Nancy (Todd) November 18, 1962 and she survives.
Richard graduated from Litchfield High School, Class of 1957. He was employed at Simpson Industries until his retirement.
Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, attending the races and was a member of the DeRay Camping Club. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Nancy, Richard is survived by two children, Richard (Tammy) Horn II, Penny (Kirt) Kowalski both of Coldwater; two brothers, Harry (Tia) Horn of Reading, Charles (Diane) Horn of Litchfield; five grandchildren, Daneen (Erik) Brinks, Whitney (Aundre Gibson) Kowalski, Zachary Horn, Kortney Kowalski, Kyrstin Kowalski and five great-grandchildren, King, Mendecce, Brayden, Brody and Wylie.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his favorite grandson, Dystin Kowalski; three sisters, Martha Pitts, Elizabeth Guy, Betty Boulis; one brother, Donald Horn; infant brother and special dog, Miley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale County, Allen United Methodist Church, Leukemia Society, or the Humane Society of Branch County.
