Jerry Lee Salyer, 74, of Quincy passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at home.
A Celebration of Life will take place Sunday, September 1, 2024 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Quincy Golf Course, 955 Miller Drive Quincy, MI, with a brief service starting at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Mike Leshon.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
He was born on June 23, 1950 in Chicago to Hozie and Jennie (Coursey) Salyer. Jerry married Carol (Hampton) on September 7, 1974 and she survives.
Jerry graduated from Quincy High School in 1968 and went on to attend Hillsdale College. After college, Jerry joined the United States Army. He retired from Iron Works Local 340 in Battle Creek.
Jerry was the proud owner of the Quincy Golf Course for many years. He was very active in his community and loved to golf. Jerry was a member of the Quincy American Legion Post 157, Coldwater Elks Lodge, and also the Knights of Pythias in Allen.
In addition to his wife, Carol, Jerry is survived by one daughter, Sandy (Mike) Leshon of New Lenox, IL; one son, Brandon Barrett of Quincy; one sister, Terry (Richard) Denbrock of Jonesville; sister-in-law, Wendy Salyer of Quincy; three grandchildren, Emily (Pete) Leshon Manchester, Brock Leshon and Jordan Barrett.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Salyer.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Humane Society of Branch County.
