BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The White Pigeon Chiefs compiled 317 yards of offense on the ground Friday night as they romped to a 46-6 victory at Bronson in the regular season finale for both teams who used to be rivals in the old St. Joe Valley Conference.
White Pigeon running back Taylor Stewart had a big night as he rushed the ball 22 times for 174 yards and three touchdowns.
His first touchdown and a two-point conversion gave the Chiefs a 8-0 lead midway through the first quarter. Bronson responded with a 25-yard touchdown scamper by Jace Hoard but the two point attempt failed as White Pigeon held on for an 8-6 lead.
The Chiefs were then able to score 38 unanswered points which led to a running clock in the second half.
The Vikings were unable to put together any sort of offensive attack after scoring on their first possession as they finished with just 99 yards of total offense.
White Pigeon will go into the post season at 8-1. Bronson is assured of having their first above .500 record since 2012.
The Vikings are 6-3 and they will find out their post season fate when the M.H.S.A.A. releases the football tournament brackets on Sunday night.
