BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Points were hand to come by at the McNett Fieldhouse on Friday night as the Quincy Orioles defeated the Union City Chargers 35-27 in a Big 8 Conference game.
Quincy led 14-13 at the half and established control with a 12-5 third quarter.
The rugged defensive battle featured 34 fouls being whistled, 20 against Union City and 14 against Quincy.
Quincy’s Kendyl Musielewicz scored a game-high 12 points. Ellie Williams led Union City with seven points.
Quincy is now 5-4 overall and 1-4 in the Big 8. Union City drops to 4-7 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
Also in Big 8 Conference girls basketball, the Bronson Vikings improved to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference with a 67-44 win over Stockbridge on Bronson Hall of Fame Night. No statistics from the game were provided.
