HUDSON, MI (WTVB) – The Union City Chargers finished 11th out of 30 teams at the two day Hudson Super 16 wrestling tournament.
Three Chargers went to the podium on Saturday. Montana Connell was third at 157 pounds, Aidan Taylor was fourth at 144 pounds and Mitchell Graham was sixth at 126 pounds.
Eight Chargers went to the podium on Friday night. Kaden Russell (120) and William Thompson (215) won championships in their respective brackets.
The Chargers also had three consolation champions. They were Maddie Hawthorne (106), Isaiah Waidelich (157) and Luke Cronkright (285).
Other Charger place winners were Cameron Hummer (fourth at 165), John Olmsted (fifth at 175) and Jayden Dow (sixth at 157).
Michigan Grappler reports the Hudson Super 16 tournament featured over 135 ranked wrestlers including 18 who were ranked number one in the state.
