Thomas K. “Tom” Childers, 81, of Coldwater passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
A visitation will take place Friday, January 31, 2025 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation, 1276 Tate Trail, Union City, MI, 49094, with a short prayer service at Noon.
A luncheon will follow at Burlington Church of God, 300 East Leroy Street, Burlington, MI, 49029.
Private interment will take place at Albion Memory Gardens in Albion, Michigan.
Tom was born January 29, 1943 to John and Pauline (Holbrook) Childers in Paintsville, Kentucky. The first of 8, Jonette, John, Frank, Glenn, Jim, Bobbie Ann, & Tena. October 3, 1970, he married Janice Ann Custer-Reed in Coldwater.
Tom worked at Malleable Foundry in Albion, Midwest Foundry in Coldwater, Consolidated Freight in Fremont, Wal-Mart Supercenter in Coldwater, and Jan’s AFC Home in Coldwater.
Surviving are his sons, Kevin (Laura) Reed of Coldwater, Ron Reed of Coldwater; his grandchildren, Gary (Katie) Reed, Stacy (Brent) Reed-Glasser, Brian Reed, and Taygon Reed; his great-grandchildren, Carter, Madison, Vincent, and Elliotte; and his sister, Tena Gilliam. In addition to his wife Janice, Tom is preceded in death by his parents; his two sons Robert and Earl, and several brothers and sisters.
