BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – It was a good night for Branch County girls basketball teams in the Big 8 Conference as Bronson, Quincy and Union City all posted wins.
The Bronson Vikings avenged an earlier conference loss as they defeated the Concord Yellow Jackets 51-32 on the Vikings home court. Bronson is now even in the loss column with Concord in the battle for first place in the Big 8. Concord is 9-1 in the conference while Bronson is 7-1. The Vikings won their seventh straight game as they improved to 12-2.
The Quincy Orioles won at Reading 44-29 as they improved to 4-5 in the Big 8 and 8-6 overall. Kendyl Musielewicz led Quincy with 22 points while Miley Poindexter added nine points.
Union City romped to a 52-26 win over Maple Valley at McNett Fieldhouse. Nala Payne and Ellie Williams each had 14 points for the Chargers while Madison Krummrey added 12 points.
