BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings won their eighth straight game on Thursday night as they scored a 70-35 home court victory over Springport.
The Vikings are now 8-1 in the Big 8 and 13-2 overall.
The Quincy Orioles won their third straight game as they defeated Maple Valley 53-21. The Orioles improved to 5-5 in the Big 8 and 9-6 overall.
Union City lost at home to Reading 47-40. Nala Payne led the Chargers with 14 points while Calli Wilkinson, Madison Krummrey and Ellie Williams all had eight points. The Chargers could not stop Reading’s Aubree Ervans who blew up for a career-high 31 points which included hitting all 11 of her foul shots.
Tekonsha was forced to forfeit their girls basketball game with Hillsdale Academy because of the number of students in the school who are ill. Tekonsha was unable to field enough healthy players and it’s to late in the season to reschedule the game. Officially, it goes down as a 2-0 win for Hillsdale Academy.
In underclassmen boys basketball, the Coldwater freshmen team defeated Pennfield 43-36. Trevor Mitchell led the Cardinals with 12 points. Travon Mitchell had 10 points and Jack Aker added nine points. Wayne Case collected 8 rebounds in the victory.
