A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
In true Randy fashion, friends and family are encouraged to wear U of M or Detroit sports apparel to both the visitation and funeral service, because if there was one thing Randy loved, it was cheering for his teams.
Randy was born March 3, 1965 in Sturgis, MI, to Arthur and Ida (Rumsey) Mock. But the defining moment of his life came July 27, 1985 when he married the love of his life, Kathy J. Steenman. For nearly 40 years, Randy and Kathy built a life together filled with laughter, unwavering support, and a deep, unbreakable love. Kathy wasn’t just his wife—she was his soulmate, his best friend, and the one who made every day brighter. Their love was the kind that inspired others, a partnership built on mutual respect, devotion, and a shared joy for life’s simplest moments.
Randy spent over 18 years working in the powerhouse at Abbott, but his true joy came from the time he spent outside of work with his family, his friends, and his passions. He was a proud member of Hope Church (formerly known as Free Methodist church) in Coldwater and the Conservation Club in Hillsdale.
He found peace in the outdoors, whether he was hunting, golfing, shooting, or watching a game. A lifelong fan of University of Michigan and all Detroit sports, Randy could often be found shouting at the TV, celebrating victories, and remaining loyal through the toughest losses.
But beyond his love for sports, Randy’s heart belonged to his family. He was a proud father to Mikayla (Travis Nolin) Mock and Ryan (Lexi) Mock and a cherished honorary father to his niece Heather (Doug) Cannon. Randy was a loving brother to his siblings Kathryn (Kim) Eichler, Tammy (Raymond) Kulpinski, and April (Shaun) Kline. He adored his grandchildren, Cali Mock and Skylar Campbell, and was a proud uncle to his many loving nieces and nephews. His loyal companion, Paige, was always by his side, as were the many other family dogs he loved over the years.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, in-laws, sister Ida Marie Neil, and beloved granddaughter Claire Campbell.
His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him—his laughter, his kindness, and the way he made life more fun just by being in it.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coldwater High School Athletics, ensuring that future generations continue to share in the love of sports that brought Randy so much joy.

The man I respected most and looked up to most my whole entire life, was my Uncle Randy. He was such a kind hearted soul that loved with all of his heart and he would do anything for his family! He was the rock to our family, the one that always made it better. He will be tremendously missed and a hole in my heart will forever remain. I pray all of our angels in heaven will watch over his wife, kids and grandchildren as they navigate through a life they have never known. I love you Uncle Randy! Love Your niece Veronica
