Gordon Ray Davis, 85, of Montgomery passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at home surrounded by his family.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading.
He was born January 28, 1940 in Paulding, Ohio to Mearl and Laura L. (Armour) Davis. Gordon married Marieta (Harmon) May 13, 1982 and she survives.
Gordon graduated from Camden-Frontier High School, Class of 1958. He retired from Metal Spinners INC in Angola.
He enjoyed horseback riding and was a member of the Michigan Trail Riders Association. Gordon completed the “Shore to Shore Trail” from Lake Michigan to Lake Huron. He also enjoyed camping and hunting.
Gordon was known by many as “Grumpy Grandpa”.
In addition to his wife, Marieta, Gordon is survived by two daughters, Colisa (Scott) Boals of Fremont, Karilyn (Sjon) Otis of Coldwater; six sons, William “Bob” (Tonya) Davis of Fremont, Randy (Tammy) Davis of Fremont, Eric (Jackie) Davis of Ravenna, Keith (Joannie) Teachout of Horton, Kirk Teachout of Coldwater, Kenneth (Melissa) Teachout of Lagrange, Indiana; two sisters, Norma (Terry) Kuster of Montgomery, Connie (Steve) Tressler of Bryan, OH; two brothers, Rex Davis of Grover Hill, OH, Bill Davis of Jerome; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, June Elaine (Caywood); three brothers, Gene, Marvin, Jim Davis and one sister, Phyllis Doster.
