Donnata “Donna” S. Perry, 66, of Union City, formerly of Tekonsha, passed away at her home Monday, February 24, 2025, on hospice, surrounded by her family.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Tekonsha, 914 N. Main Street, Tekonsha, MI.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Donna was born May 12, 1958 to Donald and Esther (Probert) Schultz in Fort Benning, Georgia. She graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School in Portland, Oregon with the Class of 1975. Donna would later earn degrees at Weber State University and Moody Bible College.
November 24, 1979 she married Brian Perry at Lasalle Street Church in Chicago, Illinois. She worked as a manuscript editor for the Moody Press and at Iowa Lakes Community College, Cumberland School District, and Tekonsha Community Schools as a paraprofessional.
Over the years, she played the piano at the churches where her husband pastored and accompanied many choirs and soloists. She worked as an administrative assistant at churches, medical offices, and at Family and Children Services until she retired in 2023.
Most recently, she served alongside Pastor Brian at the First Baptist Church of Tekonsha for 12 years. She enjoyed word games, playing piano, dogs (especially Scottie dogs), and going to zoos.
Surviving Donna are her parents, Donald and Esther Maryann Schultz of Belfair, WA; husband Pastor Brian Perry of Union City; children, Carol (Matthew) Lagemann of Ypsilanti, Sarah (Brett) Botts of Granger, IN, Brenda (Douglas) Tew of Union City; grandchildren, Kevin (Esmeralda) Lagemann-Perry, Mohammed Yakubu, Gretchen Botts, Brian Tew, John Van Liere Botts, Isaiah Tew; sisters, Mary Kathleen (Gary) Gretch and Marcella Lamontagne of Port Orchard, WA and Shirley (Martin) Christoffel of Fircrest, WA. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Marian Diane Botts.
