Marian L. Rubley, 93, Coldwater passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at LakeHouse in Coldwater.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Coldwater with Pastor Dan Erwin officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Marian was born March 18, 1931 in Coldwater, MI to Marshall & Elizabeth (Renshaw) Russell. Her mother died when she was a young girl, and her stepmother Cecil (Bolton) Russell became a significant part of her life.
Marian married Robert C. “Bob” Rubley September 3, 1950 in Coldwater. He preceded her in death October 18, 2015.
Marian began her career in September 1969 as a paraprofessional for the Branch Intermediate School District. She also simultaneously drove bus for the Coldwater Community Schools until her retirement in June 1991.
Marian was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coldwater and loved dancing with her husband in the Merry Mixers Square Dance Club. She was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed bowling on leagues for many years. She was very artistic and loved to paint and craft ceramics.
Marian enjoyed spending the winter months in Sebring, FL with her husband and treasured the time she spent together with her family, especially her grandchildren and their many activities.
Marian is survived by her children Philip (Marcia) Rubley of Addison, Douglas (Lucy) Rubley of Bradenton, FL, Gregory (Susan) Rubley of Coldwater, Diane (Terry) Shiery of Coldwater, Jeff (Maria) Rubley of Allen Park; her grandchildren Rachel (Alan) Ort, Robin (Brandon) Arnold, Ryan (Yuriko) Rubley, Patrick (Susama) Rubley, Nichole (Dan) Schultz, Marcus (Lauren) Rubley, Christopher (Rochelle) Longrey, Cortney Longrey, Cody (Marisa Stempien) Longrey, Jeffrey (Haley) Rubley and Hunter (Lexus) Rubley; her step grandchildren Daniel, Stephen, Patrick, Lucy Ann & Kate Weaver, Michael Shiery, Bradley Shiery and Mindy Smith; her great grandchildren Jacob, Micah, Lydia, Lucas, Ella, Ethan, Keegan, Tristan, Delilah, Jackson, Marky, Callie, Madden, Maverick, Luna, Felix, Luca, Ivo and Nova and her beloved dog “Skippy”.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her stepsister Margaret Paradine.
