Betty Lou Dearing, 87, of Coldwater passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025 at her home.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater at 11:00 a.m.
A gathering of family and friends will take place Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Dutcher Funeral Home from 9:30-11:00 a.m.
Betty was born December 12, 1937 to Roland and Rosetta (Leopold) Baker in Winslow, IL. She later met and married Jerry Dearing on April 13, 1958, in Monroe, WI.
Betty spent many years working as an office manager for Dr. Manohar in Coldwater. She also worked as a paraprofessional for Coldwater Community Schools, at Coldwater Optometrics, and as a co-owner of Dearing’s Lad’n Lassie.
Betty was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Merry Mixers, she volunteered at the Burnside Senior Center and Tibbits Opera House. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards, square and round dancing, reading and puzzles.
Betty would look forward to shelling on the Florida beaches when she could. She carried on Jerry’s love for Coca Cola, movies and live music.
Most of all Betty loved spending time with her family, especially at her Saturday morning coffee and donuts. Betty was such a sweet soul. She left nothing but sweet memories and lovely thoughts for everyone that knew her.
Betty is survived by her children Valerie (Rex) Hilton; Bruce (Vicki) Dearing; Kim (Dan) Satow; her brothers Gene (Linnea) Baker; Gary (Debbie) Baker; her 8 grandchildren Holly (Robert) Morris; Cortney (Andrew) Schau; Alison (Sean) Satow; Samantha (Asher) Welch; Jed (Raine) Dearing; Benjamin Dearing; Ruth (Doug) Kauffman; Luke (Lorin) Dearing; and GG’s 11 great grandchildren that she loved very much.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Dearing; and her brother Ken (Rita) Baker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Burnside Senior Center and/or United Methodist Church-Mary and Martha Diner.
