Janet was born November 29, 1943 to Laddie and Christine (Hudson) Kolassa in Coldwater. She later met and married Gerald ‘Jerry’ Yesh November 9, 1963 in Bronson and enjoyed 60 wonderful years together.
Janet received her degree from Elkhart University and began her career as a Lab/X-ray Technician in Colon with Doctors Smith & Bradley, from where she retired.
Janet was a member of St. Mary’s Church, the Rosary Society and Child Study Club. She also volunteered at Bronson Knight’s of Columbus, helping with numerous fish fry’s and serving lunch during the Polish Festival. Janet was a tremendous cook and thoroughly enjoyed preparing all kinds of dishes, especially Polish recipes handed down from her mother and grandmother. However, the holidays and Polish Festival were her favorite occasions on which to cook for the entire family.
Janet & Jerry traveled worldwide for many years with their pals Phil & Sharon Mitchell, visiting nearly everywhere from Poland to Italy to Alaska. Janet loved reading, watching Hallmark Channel movies and taking care of her little dog Kelly, but most of all, loved to bless her grandchildren with her kind and loving nature. She was a terrific Grandma and Busia.
Janet is survived by her children Greg (Sheri) Yesh of Grant, MI; Deb (Chuck) Salek of Bronson; her grandchildren Damen (Sarah), Nolan (Jayne), Stacy, Sara, Joey, Jenna, Lance and Kaden; her 11 great grandchildren, many loving nieces & nephews and her dog Kelly.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry and her siblings Mary Smoker and Leonard Kolassa.
