Candace Kay “Candy” Gordon, 82, formerly of Bronson, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025 at North Woods Village at Edison Lakes in Mishawaka, IN after a long, brave fight with Alzheimer’s disease.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Visitation will be held that morning from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
She was born January 17, 1943 to Donald and Peg (LaVell) Stevens in Coldwater, MI. Candace was first married to Michael Quick, the father of their children, Jeanine and Christie. In July 2008, she married Lewis Gordon in Fort Myers, FL, and as well as gaining a wonderful husband, gained a great, loving family. Lewis preceded her in death in December 2022.
Growing up, Candace attended Bronson High School and the Bronson First United Methodist Church. Candace was a kind and social woman who enjoyed reading and playing cards. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed traveling, and later in life she found a passion for motorcycling.
Candace visited 46 of the 50 United States, but her greatest journey in life was the path of cherished memories shared and made with her beloved family.
Candace leaves behind her children Jeanine (Bill) James of Coldwater, Christie (Rod) Arnold of Granger, IN, Richard (Anne) Gordon of Cape Coral, FL, Roxann (James) Franklin of Ft. Myers, FL, Dawn (Mark) Huff of Cape Coral, FL; her grandchildren Nicholas (Angela), Eric (Jamie), Alex, Christine, Adam (Jessica), Logan, Desmond, Edward (Viviana), Austin (Bridget) ; her 17 great grandchildren and two nephews.
In addition to her husband Lewis, she was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Judith Bertsch, her brother-in-law Charles Bertsch, a daughter, Rebecca, and her grandchildren Justin and Michelle.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Branch Area Food Pantry.
