LaDonna J. Hoffman, 91, of Coldwater passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at home.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman from St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 1 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Private interment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery.
LaDonna was born September 2, 1933 in Hamilton, IN to Robert & Mildred (Shannon) Cromwell. She spent her early childhood in Hicksville, OH then moved to Ney, OH, where she lived during her school years.
After graduating from high school in 1951, she worked for Ney Lumber CO. until she married Douglas Winright in 1954, and they had four sons, John, Larry, Rick & Terry. Her husband, serving in the Air Force, died in Korea in 1958, where he was stationed after the war.
She raised her four sons alone until she married Billy Hoffman on June 14, 1969 in Angola, IN. Bill and LaDonna moved to Rose Lake in Coldwater in 1979. Together they owned and operated Hoffman’s Power Equipment in Coldwater for 10 years and she also worked for SoMiCo Supply.
LaDonna and Bill bought a home on Messenger Lake. There were many memories made with her family at Rose Lake and many more at Messenger Lake. She loved living at the lake and all the activities that went with it. She spoke of her family with great love and was very proud of each and every one of them. Her family was very important to her.
LaDonna enjoyed bowling for many years, doing crafts, ceramics and flower gardening. She and her husband Bill enjoyed making cornhole games together, along with other projects. She was a true Detroit Tiger fan, watching all the games.
LaDonna is survived by her husband Billy; her sons John (Regina) Winright of Cincinnati, OH, Ricky (Sue) Winright of Coldwater, Terry (Connie) Winright of Coldwater; her step children David Hoffman of Ney, OH, Diane Pickering of Defiance, OH, Barbara Bonar of Ney, OH, Mary Ann Dennis of Ney, OH, Steven Hoffman of Ney, OH; her siblings Richard (Janice) Cromwell of Coldwater, sister-in-law Cecilia Cromwell of Columbus, OH; her grandchildren Jami (Dave) Burritt, Joni (Tommy) Falls, Kerry Winright, Jeremy (Katrina) Winright, Jennifer (Joel) Gulley, Wanda Winright, Tyler (Logan) Winright, Mariah (Aaron) Cutler, Brent (Elise) Winright; her step grandchildren Michael, Jacob & Jessica Hoffman, Dustin & Marie Hoffman, Lucas, Logan, Lance Bonar, Hunter Dennis & Jason Hoffman; her great grandchildren Austin, Christian, Ethan & Logan Burritt, Mikayla & Kendyll Main, Brooklynn Gulley, Nolan, Felicity & Conrad Winright, Qwynlynn Winright, Leona, Teddy & Lydia Winright, Maxwell, Grant, Isabel Winright, Eleanorah Cutler and 6 step grandchildren; nieces and nephews Julie (Brent) Betz, Kimberly (Jeff) Berkes, Robert (Jennifer) Cromwell III and 10 great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Francis Borton, Jr., her son Larry Winright and her brother Robert Cromwell II.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
