BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Over 700 people have donated a total of $49,283 so far in a GoFundMe appeal for Branch County families that lost three children as a tree fell on their vehicle during a severe thunderstorm in Kalamazoo County last month.
One of those killed was a two-year-old girl, along with her four-year-old brother and their eleven-year-old female cousin.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller says the family was traveling to visit relatives in Climax Township and was less than a mile from their destination when the large tree fell in the middle of their minivan Sunday, March 30. He also said it appeared the family had no warning the tree was about to fall.
The siblings parents and a fourth child had been hospitalized after the accident. They reportedly returned home last week.
