Darrel R. Adams, 76, of Colon passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.
In keeping with Darrel’s wishes, he will be cremated and a gathering of family and friends will take place Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation, 1276 Tate Trail, Union City, MI.
Darrel was born January 17, 1949 to Darwood and Minnie (Swihart) Adams in Sherwood, Michigan. He graduated from Union City High School with the Class of 1967.
Darrel proudly served in the U.S. Army and was deployed to Vietnam. On April 29, 1972, he married Deborah Austin at the Union City United Methodist Church. He worked at Post Cereal in Battle Creek, retiring in 2003.
Darrel enjoyed camping, NASCAR, coaching softball, and spending time at the lake. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Free Masons.
Surviving are his wife Deborah Adams of Colon; his children, Ericka (David) Kruszka of Colon, Bridgette Adams of Lawton, Summer (Kevin) Hopkins of St, Marys, GA, and Dane (Kathryn) Adams of Byron, MN; his grandchildren, Jacob Kruszka, Gabriel Kruszka, Ryan Carson, Lucas (Brittany) Stoll, Olivia Stoll, Sage Hopkins, Eden Hopkins, Elle Hopkins, Westin Adams, Theodore Adams, and Sloane Adams; his great-grandchildren, Alice, Hope, Flynn and Charlie; his step-mother, Dolores Adams, his in-laws, Carla (Terry) Yandle and Tom Austin; his niece Julie McMasters and his dogs Evie and Tink.
He was preceded in death by parents and his sister, Valerie Reinbold.
