COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council introduced a resolution on Monday night that would amend an agreement between the city and the non-profit organization which is operating the Coldwater Community Center, Incorporated.
The non-profit corporation formed by community members has been working on the former Putnam Funeral Home.
City Attorney Amanda O’Boyle said the second amendment would allow them to rent the Beech House for private events that would host up to 100 persons in order to help offset expenses.
She added this has led to a tweaking of the original lease agreement.
The group operating the Beech House is pursuing State grants through the State Historic Preservation Office to make further improvements to the building.
The remaining terms of the original Lease Agreement which was approved in November of 2023 would stay the same.
Final approval of the resolution is scheduled to take place during the Council meeting June 9, 2025.
